Southbound Adventures
was formed by Ian Robinson and Rob McAlister in 1993 to provide a
quality outdoor education program for their clientele. All Southbound
Adventures staff bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience
that ensures a quality program is offered to all participants.
As a provider of quality outdoor education, Southbound Adventures
shall ensure that program provided will be individually tailored to
suit the particular needs of the school. Southbound Adventures, jointly
with the school, will direct these programs toward personal development
and group cooperation through the process of experiential learning.
Southbound Adventures
offers a range of adventure activities that will enhance the schools
own educational objectives. All programs chosen would offer the
opportunity of individual challenge through a variety of adventure
activities. You can expect that these to include; bushwalking,
abseiling, rock climbing, canoeing, sea kayaking, high and low ropes
course, initiatives, caving, mountain biking and navigation. Southbound Adventures
also conducts a comprehensive series of Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
trips at Bronze (including a training day), Silver and Gold level. The

students the outdoor recreation component for 2 unit PDHPE is conducted
over a four-day period.
Schools

and North Coast. Extended wilderness programs are conducted in Tasmania
and New Zealand National Parks and World Heritage areas. In addition,
through an extensive network, Southbound Adventures is able to organise
and coordinate overseas adventure travel to most destinations worldwide.
Organisational
Accreditation (ORIC) has been designed for Outdoor Education and
Recreation companies, to provide a process to examine the organisation
and its policies and procedures. This will assist in promoting quality
standards within the profession. It is an ongoing process, requiring
constant review and update, ensuring that they reflect best industry
practises and changing community needs and attitudes.
Southbound Adventures
has been the first company in NSW to go through the accreditation
process of this new scheme and be successful. In addition to that
Southbound Adventures is a National Training Provider for Australian
Canoeing.
Ian and Senior Staff of Southbound Adventures are available to discuss your individual requirements at any time. Ian Robinson as owner and sole director of Southbound Adventures since 1996 will be involved directly in each program to ensure the quality of service they provide.
